Peanut Update

Quick update on our lil' Peanut.  Doctor says he/she is measuring perfectly and roughly about the size of a grape.  If you look close you can see little arms and legs that have begun to form.  (The baby is upside down in the picture.)  The two lobes have formed and the four chambers of the heart have developed as well and will continue to get stronger as the baby grows.  The bright white spot is the babies heart and the line that follows the curvature of the babies back is the spinal cord.  The baby has eye sockets and no more tail.  As you can see things are moving along and we are quite excited as we wait in expectation to see the child God is knitting together. We are still due on July the 3rd, and baby seems to be happy and active.  Campbell and Nate enjoyed the sonogram and it was so fun to see Campbell get so excited about his little sibling.  We can't wait to meet our lil' rambunctious Rambo baby... (we call him/her Rambo because the doctor was amazed at how much the baby was moving.)  As for momma... I am super excited, but still experiencing the wrath of first trimester sickness.  It has actually calmed down a little, but I can't wait for better days ahead.

Let The Good Times Roll!!!

Recently Nate and I have moved into our first house.  We feel extremely blessed and fortunate  to have family that loves to share in  momentous occasions such as these.   Campbell's Powpow, Gogo, Uncle Nick, Aunt Jamie, and Cousin Elaine came for a visit, and we had the greatest time.  We would like to say thank you for visiting our new house and thank you for good times and wonderful memories!!!  Just a few pictures and an inside look at what a wonderful family we are blessed to have.

Below Campbell swings with Powpow on his new playground.
Below Campbell shows Powpow how he slides down his slide!!!
Below Uncle Nick is being silly as Campbell shows him how he can swing by himself!
Below Cousin Elaine gives Campbell a smile that will not soon be forgotten.  She has a way of doing that!
We love to share these precious moments from our family to yours.  We hope you enjoy a glimpse into the moments that make our world go round!!!

A Happening Halloween!!!

Every Halloween Nate, Campbell, and I carve pumpkins, make yummy treats, and go to The Fall Festival at First Irving.  This Halloween was not that much different, with the exception of missing out on the Fall Festival at our former church.  We decided, instead, to trick-or-treat for the first time ever!  (Now... I have a cool little trick that my dear mom taught me, and I would love to share with you all.  No kid should have to miss out on the fun of getting to knock on neighbors doors yelling trick-or-treat, or in Campbell's case, trick-and-treating!!!... but if you are a protective mommy like myself, you probably aren't comfortable with letting your kiddo devour candy from complete utter strangers.  That is where my little bag of tricks comes into play.)  Last night Campbell had a blast ringing door bells, growling at other children, and yelling the famous catch phrase of course... Trick-or-Treat!  When our journey was complete, I told Campbell that he could eat some candy after he had a bath.  He ran to the bath tub with no arguments... upon which I handed Nate Campbell's treat sack so that he could dispose of our new stash properly.  Nate quickly dumped all the candy we had accumulated in the trash where he then filled Campbell's treat sack with our own candy that we had purchased from the store.  After Campbell was done with his bath, he enjoyed a few pieces of candy-(that he thought was the result of his brilliant tactics to bribe strangers), brushed his teeth, and went off to bed.  Our story concludes with breakfast the next morning.  As I was pouring milk in Campbell's cereal, he began to explain to me that it was time to get dressed as Optimus Prime and start all over!!!  Fun times!
Waiting for the door to be answered above, and below we are flexing our awesome O-Prime muscles!
Below, Campbell is getting ready for his Halloween Costume Party at school!
Below, Campbell is proud of his Captain Jenkins pumpkin carving.  (Captain Jenkins is my parents cat that Campbell is best good friends with!)
Below, Campbell is gutting the pumpkin.  At one point, he put the guts in his mouth and gagged horribly... it was quite a sight for sure!  Our dog loved the guts though, and didn't gag... (I know what you are all thinking... where were you?  I was taking pictures laughing and smiling the whole time!)    :)
Happy Halloween!!!!  ~The Smith Crew

Maybe Next Year!

Maybe Next Year!
Seriously, I think maybe the Sulphur Springs Soccer Association knows what they are talking about when it comes to age in accordance with their program.  For those of you that don't know, when we lived in Irving, Campbell was going to begin his first season of soccer at the YMCA.  We had put together a little stout team from our current church, then received information that we were going to be moving to Sulphur Springs, in East Texas.  We found a soccer league in town, and went to sign him up, upon which we discovered that he missed the dead line according to the age factor.  He had to be 4 by the end of July.  No one was happy about this news and in other words..."BUMMER!!"  We had one sad little boy who loves to play soccer, one mad protective mommy, and one macho dad who was looking forward to coaching.  A recipe for disaster was in the making, as God loves to gently guide our family back to His plans despite our selfishness from time to time.  Anyway,  with all this said, we play often together as a family now, and the other weekend I decided to take a few pictures of Campbell playing only to find that maybe the ol' parents were being a little prideful and the association really does know what they are talking about when considering the whole age situation.  Here are a few pictures of Campbell playing soccer with mommy and daddy.  He always starts out super strong and... well... the pictures tell the rest of the story!  :)

Mac-N-Cheese with Sprinkles Please!
-Campbell and I sometimes enjoy lazy days at the house... but it never ceases to amaze me that no mater how lazy the day, Campbell always finds a way to keep us both quite entertained.  With a three year old boy, I thought I had seen it all, but the other day Campbell pulled a stunt that I just couldn't help but share with you all.  I made Campbell Mac-N-Cheese for lunch the other day.  After I placed the dish in front of him, I left the room for a moment only to return to find that Campbell had opened the refrigerator, taken the sprinkles, and perfectly garnished his entree as he saw fit!  I couldn't help but laugh.  Here is a picture of what he had for lunch and enjoyed, I might add.

~Campbell~

As we were sitting at the breakfast table this morning, you began to complain about your skinny bites-(mosquito bites),
and your father and I could not refrain from laughing.
We decided that we would jot down a few of the funny things you say
that will, shortly and sadly, disappear from your vocabulary all together. We will add to the list as you continue to say things that utterly amaze us... as you are quite amazing!
Here are some of the fun things that you so clearly communicate to us:
You hate to eat your awefuls at breakfast, "you much prefer pancakes"- (waffles)
You love to wear your pack-pack every where- (backpack)
You love to play, or hear daddy play the pinano- (piano)
You love to eat your ogre- (yogurt)
You love to ride in the elegator- (elevator)
For a while, Pin-A-Key-A-Coe was your favorite movie- (Pinocchio)
You love to go canooning with daddy- (canoeing)
You say that things are alicious, just like your cousin Trevor used to say- (delicious)
You love to watch moobies- (movies)
You always ask for your incredible HONK pj's at bed time- (Incredible Hulk)
You say, your heart hurts, pointing to your knee- (after a boo-boo)
You also love Mighty Otis- (Milo and Otis)
You love to go on ventures- (adventures)
You love your uncle Odie- (Cody)
You also love your uncle Jay-E-My-A- (Jeremiah)
You love to sing the song, Transformers! Robot in your eye!- (Transformers! More than meets the eye!) -You sing the first part of the song perfectly.
You also say that you are Optimus Prime and Peanut is a Midget Turtle!- (Peanut is our dog, and you pretend that he is a "Ninja Turtle"... and you are a Transformer a lot these days)
Your favorite book is "some green ans an ams"- (Green Eggs and Ham)
Your favorite candy is M's and N's- (M&M's)
You call your teacher Mr. Sara- (Now the whole class calls Mrs. Sara, "Mr. Sara", including Mrs. Sara!)

You love to eat samiches- (sandwiches)
You love to tell daddy and I, "Get that corn outta my fice!" -(face)
We really enjoy eating friendship fries together! -(french fries)
I love to take you to Ol' MacDonald's to get chicken nuggets and play on on the playground! -(MacDonald's)
I love that your favorite treat is the same as daddy's when he was a little boy, "piesicles". -(popsicles)
You sure to seem to be playing with your "Transforms" a lot these days. -(Transformers)
I love how convenient your "stummy apes" are when I serve any sort of broccoli for dinner. -(tummy aches)
I hated when you were sick with the "flub"! -(The flu-B)
Campbell, you are growing up so fast son. As your mother and father, though these moments melt our hearts, we know that you will soon figure every thing out and the fun little sayings will fade away and become an intricate part of a child hood memory that we will hold dear to our hearts for as long as we live. May we never take one moment or one day spent with you for granted, and may we always thank God for every moment spent with you. You are a perfect little gift and every day we love you more than the one before. You will never know how much we love you our beloved.

Smith Family Serenades

Okay, so I am new to blogging, but long over due.  I am creating this page to share our families most precious moments with those we care about most.  Recently, we have moved to Sulphur Springs, Texas so that Nate can further his career in law and work on his Masters in Psychology at Texas A&M Commerce.  I am still attending Dallas Baptist University where I am attempting to work on a degree in Kinesiology in the hopes of becoming a nutritionist.  Campbell is still anything but ordinary, and is 3 1/2 now!  Wow!  Time has just flown bye.  He started pre-K this year at a new school called the Little Acorn School and has made many new friends.  He is doing great and will start soccer this fall, which he is pumped about.  He is so amazing and continues to touch the hearts of everyone around him.  He is our little pride and joy and his father and I couldn't be any more proud of him.  For those of you who already know and for those of you who haven't heard, we have some recent exciting news!  September 2, 2008 at 12:53 am, we welcomed our precious little Elaine Donna Campbell into this world weighing 5 lbs and 11 oz and stretching out to be 19 1/2 inches long! She is a doll and she is absolutely perfect in every way!  I fall in love with her more and more as each minute passes.  Jamie and Nick are so proud of their new little girl, and both momma and baby are doing great.  These are the moments we live for and love to share with all of you.  We couldn't be any more blessed!  :)  Congratulations to the proud parents of Elaine Donna Campbell!  Jamie and Nick, you have one little perfect angel of  a child.  God bless beloved brother and sister.
